Ciudad Perdida/Lost City is the site of an ancient city in Colombia that is older than Machu Picchu in Peru. It’s a challenging but rewarding hike with ancient ruins, jungle, river crossings, native villages, waterfalls and much more.
The Tayrona people built La Ciudad Perdida over 1000 years ago. They called it Teyuna. The Spanish invasion pushed the natives high into the Sierra Nevada until they were so dispersed that their numbers dwindled and their cities were abandoned. The jungle reclaimed the Lost City…until tomb raiders found gold.

| Day 2 / Santa Marta - First Camp | Depart from Santa Marta Hotel in Jeep for your 3hr ride to Mamey. Your 4hr trek will lead you to first camp. L+D |
| Day 3 / Second Camp | Depart 8am on foot to second camp, ‘Mumake’. Visit the Mutanyi indians at Mutanshi. Enjoy information about their culture. B+L+D |
| Day 4 / Third Camp | Depart at 7am to third camp, ‘Romualdo’. Take a 1hr walk and 1200 step climb to Cuidad Perdida and tour the terrain for 3hrs. B+L+D |
| Day 5 / Santa Marta | Transfer from Mamey towards Buritaca river and Machete Pelado. Palomino has a bohemian ambience with incredible views. Stay at Hotel Boutique Casa Verde. B |
