Itinerary

Day 1 / San Jose

Arrive in San José and transfer to selected to hotel.
Day 2 / Volcan Arenal // Visit to La Fortuna Today's itinerary includes a guided transfer to the Arenal Volcano area and the Baldi Hot Springs. The journey to the northern plains of Costa Rica begins with an ascent through the Central Volcanic Mountain Range, making a brief stop in the famous town of Sarchí essential. Sarchí is internationally renowned for its skilled artisans, earning it the title of the Cradle of Costa Rican Handicrafts.
Continuing the tour, you'll admire plantations of various agricultural products, ornamental plants, and cattle ranches, until you reach the town of La Fortuna. There, you'll enjoy lunch at a cozy restaurant directly facing the Arenal Volcano. This excellent location will allow you to have the best view from early morning, waiting for the Arenal Volcano to delight visitors with its impressive, almost perfect volcanic cone. In the afternoon, to end your day on a high note, you can relax in the hot springs, soaking in the warm pools and enjoying the natural surroundings of this unique place. In the evening, transfer to your selected hotel in Arenal. B+L + D
Day 3 / Arenal Volcano // Visit to Arenal Natura Park  After breakfast, a tour vehicle will be waiting to take you to Arenal Natura Park. This conservation project in Costa Rica covers 3.7 hectares and focuses on education, research, and the protection of endangered species, especially amphibians and reptiles. The park offers an ecological experience with an 800-meter trail, suitable for all ages, where visitors can observe various species in their natural habitat. Among the main attractions are the Butterfly Garden, the Crocodile Lagoon, the serpentarium, and the leafcutter ant colonies. There are also exhibits of frogs, turtles, and stingless bees. Throughout the tour, naturalist guides provide educational information about the ecosystems and the importance of conserving these species.

Day 4 / Monteverde // Monteverde Cloud Forest area This morning, you will be transferred to the high mountains of the Tilarán mountain range, specifically to the Monteverde Cloud Forest area. This transfer includes a boat tour on Lake Arenal, one of the largest and most important lakes in the country. The first part of the journey is graced by the stunning views of Lake Arenal and its surroundings. Afterwards, the ascent into the mountains begins, where you will enjoy the beautiful rural landscapes that line the gravel road. As you approach the higher elevations, you will feel a slight change in temperature due to being over 1,300 meters above sea level. The vegetation, covered in orchids, bromeliads, and moss, and its density, make it incredibly attractive. The cool climate will bring back the rural experience of our country. Check-in at the selected hotel where you will stay for two nights. Rest of the day at leisure. B
Day 5 / Monteverde // Visit Trapiche Ranch Free morning to enjoy the hotel facilities.
A visit to El Trapiche is scheduled for mid-afternoon, which is a family-run ranch where you will learn all about traditional production methods on a local farm. The 2-hour hike begins with an interactive tour along mountain trails lined with nature and various plantations. The hike is neither long nor strenuous, making it suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Visitors can interact directly with the products at each stage, offering an authentic and enriching experience and allowing them to connect more deeply with the natural environment. During the tour, you'll have the opportunity to learn about the entire coffee production process, starting with the cultivation and hand-picking of the beans, ensuring that only ripe cherries are harvested. Next, you'll see how the beans are ground, peeled, dried, and roasted, culminating in the preparation of an exquisite cup of coffee. In the cacao production process, you'll observe how chocolate is transformed into the delicious product we all know and love. You'll also learn about sugar, seeing how sugarcane is milled and how, at the end of the process, the sugar cubes are obtained. Throughout each plantation, a guide will explain the artisanal process using traditional tools employed in production. At the end of the tour, you'll enjoy "gallo de arracache," a typical Costa Rican dish, accompanied by freshly brewed coffee or sugarcane juice. The logistics of the tour are subject to change. B
Day 6 / San Jose Today, you will be provided with a shared transfer back to San José. As you descend from Monteverde, you will be able to see the plains and, on a clear day, even the Pacific coast in the distance. You will travel through the mountainous regions until you reach the Central Valley in the very heart of Costa Rica.

Day 7 / San José departure International Airport (SJO) Transfer to San José International Airport for your flight back to Aruba. B
