FAR EAST CRUISE 2005
Although it is ahwile back, I still remember our spectacular Far East Cruise on the Sapphire Princess. We travelled with about 50 Arubans all the way to Peking, where we feasted on Peking Duck
visited the Great Wall of China, very impressive and cold - and had the most memorable foot massage ever..! Ask anybody from our group, it was so funny! After visiting Peking we boarded the princess cruise ship and visited Shanghai, Vladivostik (Russia) South Korea, and Japan. After our 12 day cruise which was filled with adventure, e.g, dining in Korea in a restaurant with no-one speaking english and no english menu…we just pointed at other tables, that that is what we wanted to eat….WELL, IT WAS HOT! like in PICA, PICA but very good…. Visiting ports like Nagasaki was unbelievably moving (where the 2nd atom bomb fell) and when the ship was leaving there was little children on the waf, waving goodbye…such a moving moment considering that only 40 years ago, the same american people were at war with Japan..
At the end of the cruise, we stayed 2 nights in Osaka, visiting temples and eating delicious sushi…WHAT A TRIP, if you want to see the ORIENT, this is the way to do it!
