How to Add an Image
In your Add New Post / Edit Post window click on the first little square at the right of the Upload / Insert menu - If you’re not sure that this is the correct option, hover with your mouse over the icon, it should say “Ad an image“.
In the “Add an Image” window click on Browser Uploader link (if you can’t see this, verify that you are in the “From Computer” tab). Than click on Browse to access your computer. Browse to look for your picture, click on the file name than click on the Open button. The name of the file you’ve chosen will now appear in the white box in front of the Browse button in the screen pictured above. Click on Upload to upload your picture to our server.
Title
Your picture has to have a title; you can edit the title of the picture. Optionally, you can also add a caption, a description and a link to the picture.
Caption
When you type a name in the caption field, the text will be placed directly under the picture when published on your entry page. The picture and the caption will be placed in a frame. Use this when you want your picture to be shown in a frame with a name.
Description
Enter a description in this field - this will be only visible in combination with the POST URL button. Use this when you don’t want to include the description of your picture in your post, but rather on a separate page. Using this option will place a link to your picture in your post to a new page, where the picture will be shown with caption if provided and the picture will also be linked here to its original file in its original size.
Link URL
If you click on the None button or you leave this field blank than nothing will be linked to this picture.
If you click on File URL the system will place a link to the original picture in its original size in which you’ve uploaded the picture file.
If you click on the Post URL button the system will place a link to your post entry’s attachment page, which will display the picture on a separate page with its caption, description and link to the original file in its original size.
You can also use this to put an external link, such as a link to the hotel / place / etc. you visited, e.g. http://www.mexico.com
Alignment
Choose how you would like the picture to be inserted in your posting: None will place it without alignment, Left will place the picture at the left side of your posting, Center will place in the center of your posted (centers the picture) and Right will place the picture at the right side of your posting. We advise to use center alignment.
Size
Choose with which size your picture will be published in your posting: Thumbnail will resize your picture to a 150×150 size, Medium will resize your picture to a 224 x 300, Large will enlarge your picture (where possible), Full Size will keep your picture to its original size.
If your post is short, use thumbnail. If your post in medium in length use Medium. We don’t advice you to use neither Large nor Original size.
When you are ready deciding how you would like to place your picture, click on Insert into Post.
Image Upload Problems
If you get any error messages from the system during the upload of your pictures, the reason could be a wrong picture format or the picture file size.
- Required Picture Format(s): JPG
- Required Picture file size: 2MB max.
We can advise to use free online tools like http://www.picresize.com and http://www.drpic.com/, which are very handy not only to resize your pictures, but also to add some nice pizzazz.
